Paige and Mike’s intimate backyard wedding in Cincinnati was such a relaxed and joy-filled day to document. It wasn’t the original wedding they’d envisioned, but I’d argue it worked out better than anything they could have dreamed up. From the get, these two expressed wanting heavy documentary photography coverage with barebones minimal posed shots, which of course made me particularly stoked to document their wedding day.
Highlights Included:
-During the ceremony, these two surprised all of their guests with a hilarious alternative to your typical Unity Candle lighting moment.. Instead they did a Unity Volcano-erupting bit and it was a hit. So perfectly “them".”
-Exchanging personal vows one-on-one (with me lurking nearby obviously) after the ceremony. Not only is this a sweet way to still exchange personal vows when you opt for the traditional ones during your ceremony, but this time was also KEY for me to get nice authentic portraits of them sans posing.
