if you don't already know of kaila + jay of klassey productions, you're missing out. forget what you *think* you know about "wedding videos"... their work is upbeat, out-of-the-box, thoughtfully nuanced and just plain exciting to watch. here's proof if you don't believe me: boom

i first met this deadly duo when we worked a wedding together in nashville a while ago, but it wasn't until we all found ourselves teaching @ the real workshop this past august that I had to chance to get to know them... i got to to know them more as very unique and different individuals, but what I really loved was seeing them feed off each other during their presentations... the passion for what they do is evident in their work, but seeing their faces light up as they stood side-by-side talking about this crazy, beautiful art form they've shaped into a business was equal parts sweet and motivating as hell. they are the definition of "killing it." a few weeks after the workshop, I tagged along with the equally-incredible emily & jacob of the hatches photography to capture jay & kaila on the *other* side of the lens to celebrate their engagement! be sure to check out their save the date video here!

best of 2016

holy shit, what a weird year.

overalls made a comeback, phones exploded, trump was elected. shoes that tie themselves are now a thing. the mannequin challenge made it to the white house. syria. brexit. westworld. stranger things. the gatlinburg wildfires. the echo. weird clown shenanigans. princess leia, bowie, leonard cohen. brangelina, what a doozy.

and the whole time I'm over here binge watching shitty Lifetime movies and googling things like "perfect amount of time to dip an oreo into milk", "how much should dogs sleep" and, subsequently, "is my dog depressed?" (answers: 8 seconds, 12-14 hours, probably not/get a life).

photographically speaking, it was a great year for me. I'll spare you the sentimental recap, but it was an awesome year and I can't wait to see what 2017 has in store for KAP. I already have weddings booked in Italy and Puerto Rico, so i'm going to go ahead and say it's going to be a noteworthy year. 2016, it's been weird. 2017, bring it on!
