Aila & Greg's Portland, Oregon was exactly everything I would want should I ever tie the knot myself. These two are both attorneys which leaves one with little time (or care) for frill, so naturally their day was also laid back and unpretentious. That's not to say there wasn't thought + effort put in, but these two kept to the heart of a good, meaningful wedding day: relaxed prep time with their friends and pup Roxie in the AM, exchanging vows in one of Mother Nature's finer accomplishments, followed by an intimate downtown dinner with oysters, cocktails and a creatively curated menu.

The couple got ready at the iconic and luxurious Hotel Deluxe in Portland which was the perfect place for everyone to relax in style the morning of, and of course their lab Roxie stole much of the attention. Dwarfed by redwoods and surrounded by an intimate group of their nearest and dearest, these had their elopement at the beautiful Hoyt Arboretum and followed with an incredible private meal and cocktails at  The Woodsman Tavern in downtown Portland with some of the best oysters I've ever had. Press play and enjoy!

if you don't already know of kaila + jay of klassey productions, you're missing out. forget what you *think* you know about "wedding videos"... their work is upbeat, out-of-the-box, thoughtfully nuanced and just plain exciting to watch. here's proof if you don't believe me: boom

i first met this deadly duo when we worked a wedding together in nashville a while ago, but it wasn't until we all found ourselves teaching @ the real workshop this past august that I had to chance to get to know them... i got to to know them more as very unique and different individuals, but what I really loved was seeing them feed off each other during their presentations... the passion for what they do is evident in their work, but seeing their faces light up as they stood side-by-side talking about this crazy, beautiful art form they've shaped into a business was equal parts sweet and motivating as hell. they are the definition of "killing it." a few weeks after the workshop, I tagged along with the equally-incredible emily & jacob of the hatches photography to capture jay & kaila on the *other* side of the lens to celebrate their engagement! be sure to check out their save the date video here!
