>> turns out if you teach at a workshop, you don't really end up shooting much b/c you're teaching, so you leave said workshop and have the crazy itch to create something fierce. this is the result of that.

>> turns out emily & jacob hatch are not only incredible photographers and TOTAL babe-model status, but of.freaking.course. they're also the most approachable, kind, laid back humans ever.

>> also turns out photographing other photographers means things get a little extra funky, like ending your sesh in total darkness with an iphone light 'cause why not?

>> also also turns out I really like maternity sessions now! I thought they'd be sups cheesy, but really they're just like any couple's session with occasional focus on the baby bump. bring em on!

andrea & joseph's five star retreat wedding // nashville wedding photographer

I don’t love you as if you were a rose of salt, topaz,
or arrow of carnations that propagate fire:
I love you as one loves certain obscure things,
secretly, between the shadow and the soul.
-One Hundred Love Sonnets: XVII by Pablo Neruda

When your vows begin like this, you can bet there will be tears. Andrea & Joseph's Five Star Retreat wedding was one of my favorite weddings I photographed last year. After meeting up for their Sewanee engagement session and immediatley hitting it off, I knew their wedding was going to be all things good. I was right. My favorite moments included Joseph being so overwhelmed after the ceremony that he plopped down on the ground to let it all marinate for a minute and of course the impromptu sing-along at the reception to Beirut's Nantes, a song I never would have imagined so many other people knew, so what better song for this post? All my love to this couple!
